Crop for kids 2008 has begun
Last Wednesday was the first committee meeting for Crop for kids next year. There is an amazing and intelligent bunch of women planning this (including me lol) and it looks to be the event not to miss. Put in your diaries Saturday 15th of March Last year it was good Friday for obvious reasons, being a fundraiser for the Royal Children's hospital but this year it has been made the Saturday before so more people can come. Check out the crop for kids link on my side bar. Even if you cant make it there will be online classes, competitions and much more leading up to the big day.
The week in review takes me back to last Monday when I went to court with Bek. This was to see what happened to the guy that smashed into her. He was charged and got a conviction for careless driving, a $500 fine and 4 months suspended license. Would have liked to see him lose his license a lot longer and a bigger fine but hey, at least that part has been put to rest and Bek can get on with other things. She has a trip booked to Bali the lucky bugger in Sept so at least that wont be hanging over her head while shes on holiday.
Tuesday Jacqui and I got our tax done with my lovely accountant SallyAnne. We then had lunch at The Rocks in Mornington and browsed through Paper 2 for a bit.
Wednesday- should not have gone to work. It was just one of those days when I knew I should have had a sickie! Cant go into too much detail but I was involved in an incident where my hair was pulled and i was pulled to the ground. I am still feeling very sore and sorry for myself!! But all part of the job unfortunately. That night I hosted the first crop for kids committee meeting which was great.
Thursday I was still recovering form Wednesday and on Friday I was still too sore to take Taylor swimming so DH did it. I therefore got to take some photos. This is Taylor ready to jump in the pool by singing the crocodile song. She just loves swimming and always dives in before the song is finished!
Friday arvo I got a bit spoilt. I bought myself a new Oroton bag to sling over my shoulder and big enough to fit more than items I only carried pre Taylor, I stocked up on my clinique products and just when I thought that was it, I showed John some earrings I liked and he said try them on, I will buy them for you. He does surprise me sometimes. The next day I thought i would have a meltdown if I didn't get to scrap as I hadn't done any for so long. I think John saw this coming so he took Taylor out and I scrapped 3 pages. I'm a much better person for it now!!
Today John's son Dave and girlfriend Michelle and Johns other son Rikki with wife Loz and baby Ruby came over. Taylor just dotes on Ruby. Don't know where she gets this motherly instinct from!
We all then headed over to Sandown because our car club the HSV owners club were doing racing sprints there today. Cold and boring! I used to love it but now everyone is new and I don't know them very well and everyone has fully built race cars. They don't use their road cars much anymore which also makes it a bit boring.
Till next time

It always ends in tears...........
That's the way it seems to be these days, I think the terrible twos have come early. Miss Taylor always has a teary if things don't go her way. Sign of things to come? Probably. Am I ready for that? No. Anyway these are the photos of when we walked up to the park. Taylor has taken a new found interest in the cabbage patch doll that Jacqui gave her for her 1st birthday. She discovered a stroller in toys r us and wheeled it around the whole time we were there so i bought her one. BUT she didn't want the one I was going to buy she wanted the shabby floorstock one she had been pushing around. But that's another story that ended in tears. Anyway she proudly wheeled Carly Arlene up to the Park but didn't want to walk back and both John or I did not want to carry her the whole way home. I had my camera so snapped the tears. Is that mean? I always feel like I am trying to get the best pic of her laughing or smiling but never capture the bad times. I still felt mean tho!
Not much else happening. I went to visit my grandma for afternoon tea at her hostel which was OK. I hate going there because the place is so depressing and she has dementia now so is very forgetful. Taylor keeps everyone amused there anyway!
John has had pleurisy again so he's not been well. My car is still not back from the repairers. I hit a gutter and had more damage underneath than I thought so I went through insurance which has prolonged the process. So that has been a pain with one car. And how cold has it been? I'm such a cold bod I really feel it. The staff at work are in tshirts cos I've got the heater cranked up and I am still cold!! Anyway enough whinging. We went to Ballarat yesterday to see my dear Great aunt and Uncle. Norma is 85 and Andrew is 90. They adore Taylor and she was really good there so it was a good day. Lots of things coming up that I'm looking forward to. Sunday I'm taking the day off work to go to a Tupperware party at Jess's, Monday Taylor is going to Jacqui's for the day while I go with Bek back to court about her car accident. Monday night I get my car back. Tuesday Jacqui and I are doing our tax returns and my accountant has now moved to Mornington so we do tax, lunch and then Paper2. Wednesday night I am proud to host the first meeting for the Crop for kids fundraiser. I got nominated secretary so I'm very excited to be on the committee this year. Anyway that's all for now
